I wanted a windows tablet to study Korean and Spanish, I bought the 10 inch Asus T100 first, it was not bad until the screen cracks, then I decided to go with a even smaller tablet, and my decision is Encore 2. I'm glad I made this decision, it suits my need better, for it's smaller , lighter, has longer battery. And it feels more sturdy than T100.
The color of the screen is very good, a little bit of greenish, but after dropping down the green value to -10, it is as good as my Macbook pro.
However, do know what you are choosing . Encore 2 is the best for my situation (even only 1G RAM), but maybe not yours. I will recommend it to others ONLY if I know their needs are similar to mine.

The battery last about 5-6 hours with medium light and browsing local webpage and playing mp3 (with foobar2000) , as appose to the 11 hours claimed in ads.
-------update-------- Raising back the stars, looks like if I lower the volume and brightness , it can go 9 or more hours, and is closer to the boasted 11 hours, and which manufacture does not boast these days?
Also, since the battery is only 1500 mah, it's all natural that battery time is sensitive to every setting. What it also implies is, if I buy a 15000 mah battery bank , unlike iPad Air that I have, it can be charged 7+ times( there is a conversion rate) ,giving it 50+ hours of time of usage without Ac adapter.
One thing I forget to mention, the speaker on encore 2 is amazing, far better than other tablets of same size hat I seen, maybe that's where it gets its name from .
I like this little tablet, It does however freak me out because of how sensitive it is to heat and overheating. I have it installed in a case, designed for this model of tablet. The key is to make sure that when using or charging you always have the vents at the bottom rear exposed, I do this now even when it is off.Unlike my smartphone, this tablet is a breather, it really needs are if you don't want it to over heat, shut off and play dead. Nothing is scarier (with electronics) than to have your New tablet charging and step away for a little bit and come back to a very hot and unresponsive tablet.Luckily mine was fine again once it cooled, but it could have also have died on its first charging right out of the box.
The tablet itself, is fun it has a tablet and and PC mode that you can switch between. There are apps and games available to play on this device, sadly not as many as with a Android but enough to make it worth while in many ways. I purchased this over a Fire 7tablet of comparable price because I could add a Micro SD card and up to 132GB of memory to this device, that is not available with the current Fire tablets.I was thinking about my tablet as a longer term investment, and felt that more memory meant more power. That it would become obsolete at a slower rate than the current Android tablets which have very little memory in them, and are not able to be upgraded unless you buy a very expensive tablet. I was on a budget. This little guy works great, I wish that my Facebook games worked better on this tablet, like they did on my smart phone. I found Scrabble through is impossible to play on this tablet and it and some other things I want are not available at the app store. As long as more things keep becoming available I will be happy.It is a powerhouse for internet surfing, it streams videos like a champ and has a good speaker system for such a small device. The camera is adequate, I sometimes fight with the keyboard function, available when you don't want it and harder to get to appear when you want it, otherwise a solid piece of technology.
Tablet had a great build, but with only 1 gig of RAM it's a wonder it ran even Windows 8 at all. I was under the impression it was 2 gigs, or I would have never gotten it. Just way to slow. My phones are much faster, and I really don't think they ever made a great, fast, powerful windows tablet. Hence why they weren't popular. Sure you have the new Microsoft Surfaces, but they are far to expensive and I couldn't name one person who owns one. Much like when Microsoft tried the Zune MP3 player back in the day. Good idea, poor execution.
Received on time, everything works perfect, very nice tablet. You can tell that Windows 8.1 was reinstalled on it because it's the wrong version. Windows 8 32bit is on it and its suppose to have win8.1 64bit on it. It has two scratches in it, one on top and one on bottom. None of the retail apps and software is on it. And it said it was in a retail box with everything but it was open box , it was not, was just in a regular box, Basically the tablet has *wrong version of windows *no orig retail app\software *scratches *came reg. Box *not original charger *missing one driver ,had to install *movement for games not calibrated and can't be because sensors do not work**
Over all score out of 100% I give it a 70% It should've been cheaper than 95.00, more like 65 to 75.00 But I will keep because I put android 5.1 on it and it work flawlessly, very nice with android Oh and yes it has a 4core processor in it. Extremely fast.

Brought this product a long tym back. Hardware has no problem except for gloomy front and back camera....and crashs when u install big apps or many apps..
Windows 8 is showing me the path to hell, wifi troubles just like wife...sometimes it gets connected and sometimes it will give u a driver fail. I don't know where the problem lies but the wifi is unstable. After 4 or 5 months of usage the touchscreen is giving me minor problems which include hanging of the device and no response after touching. The only option is to restart or format which will always delete the installed office 365
Buying this product is okay but after few months it feels like burden to me. No covers available neither will u find a screen guard.
It's missing a couple things. I would have liked s micro USB port that doesn't need more than an adapter to work with a regular USB key or simply a USB port that is fully functional would have been nice. It's very light and well made. Overall it's a great buy. Great gold grey colour. Sound is sufficient for games and streaming videos. Do not buy this tablet if you are looking for great cameras. They are next to horrible on a scale of webcam.
